What We Believe

Echo Lake Church of Christ is a dynamic congregation that adheres to the pattern of New Testament Christianity. We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible and preach the unadulterated Gospel of Christ. We seek to honor God, follow Jesus Christ, live by the Holy Spirit and work diligently to save lost souls.

by being buried with Jesus through baptism by immersion for the forgiveness of our sins, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Baptism is essential for salvation, as Jesus told us that those who have not been born again by water and spirit cannot enter the Kingdom of God. John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit." Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Acts 2:37-39 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” 1Peter 3:20-22 "…In [the ark] only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him

Proverbs 3

    and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.
